First things first, Im not a huge fan of blogs for several reasons, I wont get into details, but this is why im constantly deleting my own. Since I’ve always felt like an art community misfit, tumblr seemed like a departure from the blogsphere of link lists, clicks, and critics.
I’ve always thought you get what your worth…if your worth a damn. Since I stepped foot into art college I set out to make it. Since then I’ve never felt like I was part of the art community, and I doubt that I ever will. What I do know is like most of us I stay up night after night trying to make something Im proud of, and prove to myself that I deserve to be where Im at, and I fail one hundred percent of the time.
Nine months ago I came to Disney Animation as a trainee trying to define myself, and in the end I fell short and failed. In a round about way I was given a second chance, and thanks to a group patient and nurturing artists, I was given a platform to try again. At that moment, I stopped to look around and had an idea. Passion is an irreplaceable feeling, it can’t be traded for any title, prize or recognition. It’s inside us, and no one can take that away.
I made this to document that idea. My names Nick Orsi, and I’m out to defy the odds.
